Fall 2009 Move-In

• Friday, 9/18 - Incoming new frosh/transfers
• Saturday, 9/19 - No Crown move-in
• Sunday, 9/20 - Continuing students

The campus is open for regular business on Friday so parking is limited. Following our plan will make move-in as smooth and stress free as possible. We ask that you do not arrive before your scheduled time without permission. However, you are free to arrive anytime after your assigned time.

When arriving on campus, please follow the signs at the base of campus for EAST MOVE IN.

1. First stop is the East Remote Parking Lot (map)
2. You must bring your Red Move-In tag and a picture ID (driver's license, passport, student ID card, credit card) to the table to pick up your key.
3. After you check in, you will be directed to drive up to Crown. As we have very limited parking, you will be allowed to drive only 2 vehicles up to unload.
4. You will be given only 20 minutes to unload your vehicle(s) at the curb near your building.
5. After unloading, you will need to immediately move your car to the East Remote and take the shuttle back up.

If you need to make alternative arrangements, contact the Crown Housing Office at crown_housing@ucsc.edu before 5:00pm, Monday, September 15^th. As the other colleges will be moving in their students on Saturday, we will only be moving students in on Friday and Sunday.

Crown continuing student move-in is scheduled for Sunday, September 20th. As several other colleges will be moving in their students on Saturday and Crown will be busy with Orientation for our first-year students who moved in on Friday, we ask that continuing students wait until Sunday to move-in to assist with the traffic and safety of our community.

In order to accommodate the number of returning residents, we have assigned you to a 2 hour period to check in. PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY into the parking lot as there will be a lot of pedestrian traffic.

First stop is the Crown lower C permit parking lot (map)

If you go straight to your apartment parking lot, please come back down to lot #111 to check in and get your keys!

1. You must bring your Red Move-In tag and a picture ID (driver's license, passport, student ID card, credit card) to pick up your keys.
2. Drive-Through Check-in! Please remain in your car and drive to the check-in table.
3. You will need to have your picture ID and Move-In tag accessible. A Crown staff member will greet you in your vehicle.
4. At your building parking area, you will have thirty (30) minutes to unload your car. We ask that you move quickly out of courtesy to the others waiting to unload, especially in the apartment complex, which has limited parking.
5. After unloading, you will need to immediately move your car to East Remote and take the Crown shuttle back up. Even if you have a Crown/Merrill parking permit, we ask that you move your car to East Remote until the Move-In period ends. Please be courteous of students who are trying to move-in and need the spaces close to their apartments.

If you plan to return later than 3:00PM on Sunday, contact the Crown College Housing Office by Monday, Sept 15 at crown_housing@ucsc.edu to set up alternative arrangements. If you do not notify us, then your space may be released to the next student on the waiting list.
