Graduate Student Checklist
Verify you meet all Graduation requirements
January- The Registrar Office completes graduation checks after your final quarter, so you will not receive a notice of any deficiencies until after Commencement. If deficiencies are found in a preliminary progress check, you may still have time to fix them.
- You can check your most recent progress on MyUCSC. If you need help interpreting your portal information or have questions, see a College Adviser for general requirements Major Advisor for questions regarding your graduation status.
Register to walk in Crown Commencement
Opens March 13
- Students graduating Fall 2020 or sooner may walk in this year's Commencement.
- Students graduating Winter 2021 or later may walk in next year's Commencement.
- Students with a Non-Release of Information (NRI) may walk but will not have their names printed in the program. If you have an NRI and would like your name printed in the program, change your Privacy Settings on MyUCSC.
Apply to Graduate on MyUCSC
Deadline for non-affiliates to register for Commencement
April 24
- Graduating Spring 2020 or before apply to Graduate on MyUCSC
- Graduating Summer 2020 or later do not apply at this time. You will apply the quarter you graduate.

Deadline for affiliates to register for Commencement
May 4
Verify major, minor, and award information are correct
May 10- Log on to MyUCSC to verify this information is correct. These will be printed in the Commencement Program.
Claim your six (6) Tickets online
May 15 - June 8- Tickets cannot be sold or replicated.
- Valid only for the ceremony listed on the ticket. Violators will be referred to the Student Conduct Office.
- Children 5 and under do not need a ticket for admission.
- Each ticket has a unique QR code which will be scanned at entrance to the venue. If more than one copy of a ticket is printed, only the first ticket scanned will be allowed entry.
- Re-entry is not permitted.
Claim your two (2) Parking Passes @ Crown Admin Office
June 1- Students with guests using a wheelchair, or if ascending three steps in a shuttle vehicle is problematic, may exchange their parking pass for an Accessibility pass.

Commencement @ East Field
June 14
8:00 am - Go to East Field Gymnasium to Check-In
- Go to the bathroom
- Pick up your namecard
- Fix your hair/tie
8:40 am - Line up for Procession
- Find your friends
- Line up in 2 lines
- Tassel should be on the right side of your cap
9:00 am - Commencement Begins
12:00 pm - Commencement Ends
