Thank you for your interest in participating at the 2019 Social Fiction Conference (SFC). The conference will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Crown College at UC Santa Cruz. SFC will kick off with a special guest speaker and brunch at 11 am and conference sessions will run approximately from 1 pm - 5 pm. 

For over a decade the Social Fiction Conference (SFC) has provided an unique venue for analyzing issues of social justice and other social issues by examining the fictitious societies found in the genres of Science Fiction, Gaming, and Fantasy and comparing their real life corollaries. SFC was created by Crown staff and students interested in exploring these themes and sharing their interests and passions.

SFC sessions should a total of 55 minutes per session, which includes 7 - 10 minutes for Q & A. 

Each SFC sessions should run no longer than 55 minutes, which includes 7 - 10 minutes for Q & A. Sessions will run concurrently from approximately 1 pm - 5 pm at various Crown and Merrill locations.  Accepted proposals that are shorter in length may be grouped together based on interrelated themes.  

Options for SFC proposal submissions include the following formats:
▷ Showcasing original artwork
▷ Screening original video/multimedia projects
▷ Educational workshops 
▷ Interactive activities
▷ Discussions
▷ Lectures
▷ Theatrical productions

First consideration will be given to proposals submitted by Friday, December 7th. The final deadline for submission is Sunday, January 27th at 12 midnight. (space permitting).

All proposals will receive a response by Friday, February 1st.
