Themed Housing
Crown College consist of eight residence halls arranged into two groups of four: Upper and Lower Quads.

In addition to room options, there are also a variety of housing themes and options. Based on academic pursuits, hobbies, individual backgrounds, lifestyle preferences, and personal interests, these living/learning options serve to compliment a student's experience in residence.
Themes are not dictated by major, but may introduce unique activities and experiences in keeping with the theme of the building.
Residence Hall Themes
Descartes House
The Gaming House is in Descartes House, located in the Lower Quad of Crown Residence Halls. This living environment is intended to create a place where anyone who likes playing games can come together. This theme offers a special environment for students, with unique connections to several programs in the School of Engineering, including Computer Game Design, Computer Science, Digital Arts, Film and Digital Media, Electronic Music, and Creative Writing. Activities can include anything from board game nights to faculty talks, tournaments, conference trips, and study group sessions. If you enjoy gaming with your friends and you would like to join a like-minded community, this is the place for you!
Maxwell House
The Outdoor Pursuits & Sustainability House is in Maxwell House, located in Upper Quad of the Crwon Residence Halls. Activities and events organized and hosted by this housing theme are meant to take students out of their rooms and into the wider world, including hiking, sea kayaking, and camping trips. An emphasis is placed on conservation education and activities, such as beach clean-ups, faculty talks, and exploring sustainable practices. Ideal for athletes, students obtaining degrees in environmental studies and the natural sciences, or just anybody who enjoys outdoor activities.
