Happy Spring Break, Crownies!

Staffing updates:

Dan is back from paternity leave, and Kristyn gets back the first week of spring quarter from maternity leave. So Crown Advising will be fully staffed again, yay! Thank you to Monica Baker and Winnie Tang who helped out while they were both out of office!

Advising for SPRING 2025

During the first week of Spring quarter we will be only offering 15 minute “express appointments” (March 31-April 4) to be able to help as many students as possible.
- You can schedule an advising appointment through Slug Success starting Monday morning.
- If you are hoping to do more in-depth planning, please wait until Week 2 to meet with an advisor.
30 minute appointments will resume on Monday, April 7th.
Peer Advisors are available via Google Hangouts, email (CrownPA@ucsc.edu), and in person from 9am-5pm. Here’s how to chat a Peer Advisor!

Dates and deadlines for Spring quarter:

Permission Codes will be needed to enroll in classes beginning April 9th
Add/Drop/Swap Deadline and Part-Time Deadline are April 18th
Declaration deadline is April 25th – If you have the correct courses to declare, please be sure to complete the declaration process for your major. This is incredibly important and can have major consequences if you don’t complete the process!
Registration for Summer begins on May 1st

In an effort to better serve you, the Crown Peer Advisors are partnering with the Crown Programs Office to post academic updates, deadlines, all the important advising things to the Crown College Instagram. If you haven’t already followed them, now is a great time to do it. 🙂

Have a question or need enrollment support?

The Crown Peer Advisors will have the fastest response times. We recommend reaching out to them first and then they will either direct you to a Crown Advisor or another department (if appropriate).

Advising Appointments with College Advisors

We can respond to many inquiries via email (CrownAdvising@ucsc.edu), including completing forms that require our signature.
We are also available for 30-minute virtual or in-person academic advising appointments. Appointments can be scheduled in Slug Success. Directions can be found here. (If you have any issues scheduling, the Crown Peer Advisors would be happy to help!)
If you have an in-person appointment please make sure to arrive 5 minutes ahead of your appointment time.
